Warped Tour Primer 2015

Warped Tour Primer 2015

If you enjoy music and want to get your tan on while rocking out then perhaps you should go online and order yourself a couple of tickets to the Vans Warped Tour right now.

Of course, I don’t expect you to just up and buy your tickets on that statement alone, I’m sure you’d like to know more about what this Warped Tour really is. The Warped Tour is none other than the largest music festival in the United States. It is most commonly held outdoors in many different states. Locally, our festival is held in Mountain View, California. Artists (usually about 100 of them) of many diverse genres congregate here to give one bad ass show upon 10 different stages, the most famous of artists usually alter between the two main stages.

This tour also allows up and coming artists to be exposed to a huge crowd while also showcasing some famous bands. Artists such as My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Blink 182 owe some of their fame to their exposure at the Warped Tour concert. This year’s lineup for the June 20 Mountain View show includes bands such as Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides, and Pierce the Veil. Along with many other bands like Attila, I Killed the Prom Queen, and Memphis may fire.

In order to acquire your tickets you could wait for the day of or buying them online. You’re better off paying for it online than waiting until you’re there since there is likely to be a huge line. General Admission starts $49.50, but prices go as high as $375 for VIP tickets. Also, the Warped Tour website warns you not to buy tickets from the parking lot, they are fake and will be a waste of your money! Buying online from the Warped Tour website itself is much better than trying to get a bargain off some random people.

It’s not a very far drive either, it’s only about 72 miles from Salinas which amounts to about an hour of a drive (according to google directions). It’s a short drive compared to how much time you’ll be able to spend there. Generally the Warped Tour opens at 11:00 am and closes down at 9:00 pm. That’s a total of 10 hours of non-stop rock.

Although you’ll be having tons of fun throughout the festival, it is crucial that you remember you will be under the blazing sun! Pack some sunscreen to protect your skin and a snack to keep yourself energized. Water will be given out throughout the festival along with water bottle sales. However, the food and water will be extremely overpriced so be smart and go prepared.
