Juan Tovar, Journalist

Born and raised in Salinas, senior Juan Tovar has accepted the challenge of being in this class. His joy for writing led to him signing up to the class and creating the yearbook for his school which he describes as “the unity of Hispanics in a small town.”

Outside of class he’s involved in cross country and track and field. Since it’s his last year in high school, he plans on applying at UC Santa Cruz and majoring in cultural science making him the first generation in his family to attend college. “Being the first is overwhelming, but it’s a proud feeling.”

As a child, he loved WWE but has grown out of that stage onto new things such as online shopping and watching YouTube videos. Juan enjoys comedies and his all time favorite movie is Little Rascals.

Los Angeles is the place he wants to be in the future, pursuing his career with his phone on his side which he can’t live without.
