From touring around the world and breaking music records, Bad Bunny has become one of the most popular Latin singers of our generation. His latest album continues to show how talented he is and how well he can produce music that his fans will enjoy. His newly released album is titled “DeBí TíRAR MáS FOToS” and is his 6th album in the past six years. This album consists of 17 tracks and is already gaining worldwide sensation, especially on TikTok.
The title of the album, “DeBí TíRAR MáS FOToS,” represents the overall theme of the album and shows a glimpse into the emotional journey Bad Bunny will take us on by listening to this album. Translating to “I should’ve taken more photos,” the title reflects a sense of missed opportunities, quietly urging listeners to appreciate the people around them before it’s too late. The album ultimately shows how fast we can overlook things with the rush of everyday life and how we should appreciate the important things in life. This album is different from the rest because you can tell that Bad Bunny really connected with these tracks.
The album has a runtime of 62 minutes, making it one of his shortest albums to be released. This album includes a lot of different mixes and beats, showcasing his ability to experiment and push the boundaries of reggaeton and salsa. Throughout the album, he skillfully blends themes of heartbreak and sadness while also delivering upbeat, spicy tracks that will get you moving. Even though it’s one his shortest albums, Bad Bunny still makes every track feel like they have a purpose on the album. This allows his listeners to be able to go through the full album without skipping any of his songs. He is known for his reggaeton and salsa genre but this album shows how he is not afraid to blend other genres to go from playful, high energy beats to more slow paced and vice versa.
Right off the bat, my first reaction to “DeBí TíRAR MáS FOToS,” was a mix of emotions but mainly excitement because I was listening to a new album by Bad Bunny. The album immediately grabbed my attention with the amazing production and unique blend of different genres showing how he has been getting better album after album. From hearing the whole album I can tell that this album wasn’t just another reggaeton album but it was more a personal and more reflective album by him. While I enjoyed the whole album, these 5 songs stood out to me.
NUEVAYoL” This was a great way to start the album and it was expected to be a really good song. In my opinion, it’s a well-written song with a bit of salsa and reggaeton. I enjoyed this song a lot because I feel like I can play this song at any time of the day and I will still enjoy it every single time. The lyrics “Si te quieres divertir…Un verano en Nuevo York” show how if you want to have fun, you have to live your life and go out and enjoy it. I relate to this song because I sometimes get stuck worrying about so many things that I forget to enjoy the world that’s around me.
“DTMF” The moment I heard it on the album I really resonated with the lyrics. The lyrics “DeBí TíRAR MáS FOToS de cuando te tuve,” really struck me because I’ve had a lot of family members pass away and I really wish I could have cherished those moments we had by taking more photos together. The song starts a little slow and later turns into one you can dance to and sing with your friends, which I enjoyed because I can play it when I’m with my friends and we can all enjoy it.
“CAFé CON RON” I enjoy this song because of the way it starts. I like to raise the volume so loud on that opening line just because of how upbeat it is. It has a loud start and then calms down throughout the song which is enjoyable and understandable. I don’t relate to the lyrics as much in this song but it does make me feel alive because of the loud beginning and the continuous loud beat.
“EL CluB” was released before the album and it was one of my top choices before it came out. When the album was released it went down in my ranking only because there were fifteen other songs to listen to. This song is slower but still has a lot of upbeat parts throughout the song. I enjoyed this song a lot because of the slow start and then the fast upbeat in the middle of the song. The main lyric line, “Qué estará haciendo mi ex” doesn’t resonate with me, but I know plenty of friends who can relate. Bad Bunny’s ability to create songs with such relatable lyrics shows how deeply he connects with his audience and this makes the song stand out overall.
“PITORRO DE COCO” This being another one of the songs that was released before the album, it gave me a chance to listen to it and see if I enjoyed it. When the album was released it was still in my top five. I connected with this song because it talks about the loneliness during the holidays and even though the majority of my family was here during the holidays, it just didn’t feel the same as other years. The lyrics “Feliz Año Nuevo, pero no tan feliz” showcase how it’s a new year and more opportunities to be happy but in reality, Bad Bunny isn’t as happy as he was at the beginning of last year when he was in a relationship.
I think Bad Bunny did an outstanding job with “DeBí TíRAR MáS FOToS,” and in my opinion, it’s a 9/10. I feel like there could’ve been better songs because the majority of the songs were about heartbreak and loneliness due to his break up with Kendall Jenner, and while they were still really good songs, I feel like we should have seen more variety with the meaning of the songs. In the end, I enjoyed listening to almost every single song. I like how he incorporated a lot of his roots from Puerto Rico because you rarely see an artist do that which makes this album stand out from the rest.
