On January 17, 2025, Freya released her newest single “Can’t Fake It.” This song is a pop single with lyrics of being stuck in a relationship that isn’t working out. The song starts off with drums which leads into the main instrumental, with Freya comparing how her relationship started and how it ended. Freya sings, “But I can’t stop myself from looking at that old picture, how did we go from that to not texting back?” During the chorus the song transitions to a catchy upbeat melody, which repeats a couple times throughout the song.
Overall, I enjoyed this single a lot, the lyrics weren’t relatable for me, but I would find them to be easy to relate for others. This song isn’t one of those that I would come back to every so often, since I tend to listen to more Hip-Hop and Rock. This song reminds me heavily of Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift, if you’re a fan of their music I would recommend the song. I would give this single a 8.3/10.
