21-year-old preteen pop artist Jenna Raine has released her latest single titled “ Good Grief”.
Raine is a young artist who reached an outstanding audience after she had gained massive recognition as one of the members of a girl band. “L2M”, which later disbanded in 2018. This led Raine to decide on her journey by going solo into the music industry.
Eventually, as Raine continued producing her music, she started writing her lyrics with hopes of catching society’s attention. “Realizing my music can make an impact is what inspires me to keep songwriting,” Raine says during an interview with The Honey Pop.
As her music career evolved, she released 9 albums that earned millions of views. “21” is one of her recent songs released and has become very popular among her fans. The song was in honor of her 21st birthday.
In 2024, one of her most fan-favorite songs, “Roses,” streamed about 50 million and 615 million views.
On March 20, 2025, Raine debuted her newest single, “Good Grief.” This song is a pop genre that falls behind the meaning of a broken heart and healing to a happier version of oneself.
At the beginning of the song, it flows with a very harmonized soft tone, and as it plays through, the music begins to get immensely emotional, but has an upbeat melody throughout the mid-endings. Raine sings, “ It’s that good grief, the kind that you don’t notice until they leave,” repeatedly throughout the song, portraying her happiness when something or someone negative in your life is gone.
Overall, this song is very catchy; the rhythm and melody throughout the lyrics are somewhat compelling to listen to. The meaning behind the aftermath of a heartbreak is what makes this song relatable to many, due to the idea that you may feel that sudden relief and pleasure after grieving that person, which is known from the title of the song “Good Grief”.
Even though I liked it, I would not put it on my playlist, since I tend to listen to more Spanish rock songs than any other genre.
This song gives a vibe similar to Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter, so if you like them, I highly recommend this one. I would give this single a solid rating of 8.5/10.
