The final Unified basketball game was against Rancho San Juan on Tuesday, April 29. According to Athletic Director Jose Gil, this program shines a light on students who can be considered “different” and puts them in a position where they can feel included. “I think it's my funnest time of the year," Gil said. "These kids will spin with the ball, run with the ball, you know…everything goes, and it's their show.”
Unified basketball fosters inclusion
On Wednesday, May 21, Alyssa Annis Kalyssa Curiel, Max Magana, and Carlos Alfaro deliver the morning announcements. The video morning announcements are shot in the ASB office, while the audio are done in the main office.

In front of the Sterling Memorial on the second day of Bulldog Days, Lizeth Ortiz gets her picture taken by her new Yale friend Sekai Minah. Ortiz will be attending Yale on a full ride. “This was one of the very few moments I actually got to snap a picture of myself because the days were so hectic but so fun. The people I got to meet were incredible.”

While many schools in the district don't have a newspaper, Alisal has had a one for most of the school's existence. Mr. Battaglini's 6th period class (pictured) has 31 of the 50 staff members.

Colleges offering free tuition to low-income students
Senior Jayden Duarte dives across the goal line for one of his five touchdowns in a dominant 62-40 victory over Monterey. It has been a highly successful season for Duarte, and he credits his coaches for putting him in positions to succeed and make key plays. “The goal is to help wherever the coaches need me, receiver, running back, [and] DB,” he said.
Football team making playoff push
On October 1st, at the Center Meet 2, the team finished first and junior Yaretzi Cornelio finished second overall with a time of 19:23, breaking her previous record of 19:41. “I’m happy about my improvement,” Cornelio said. “I want to demonstrate that my training made me stay at the top so we can keep our league championship.”
Running to repeat
Against Palma and King City, senior Alejandra Alvarez finished the 6th hole at First Tee with par. She said her goal was to get a 35; she finished with a 33.
Support system
Against Palma, senior Jazlene Meza hits a forehand against Palma’s singles. The Trojans won this crucial match, improving their record in league to 4-4. “Personally being 6-1 this season so far has been really encouraging and this was overall a great collective team win,” Meza said.
Girls’ tennis team holding their own in Mission Division
Against Stevenson on September 30, senior Mianicole Frias dug out a spike and passed to Elena Neumann for the kill. “Getting a dig just pumps us up,” Frias said. “It makes us feel better." The girls won the game 3-0.

When I first started my floral business, I spent days handcrafting ribbon rose bouquets; each one made with patience and precision. Six months later, I began to slowly experiment with natural roses and instantly fell in love with the process. Working with real blooms felt more alive and effortless, taking just hours rather than days. Now, creating natural rose bouquets isn’t just my work; it's where my creativity feels most at home.

Why you should take AP US History
Mr. Battaglini’s 2nd period AP Language class reads the play “Inherit The Wind”, with each student having a character assigned to read their lines out loud. “Since AP testing is done, I like to finish the year off with a play,” Battaglini said, ”It is one of my favorites and is still a timely play.”
