Wellness Center provides programs for mental health
In her ASL 2 class ASL teacher Patty Killough signs "look at me" to get their attention, as some of the students were not paying attention (on phones, talking, etc.). "As the language is visual, students must have their eyes on me in order to receive the message," she said. "They are unable to simply listen while doing something else."

Alisal Earns #1 Ranking in Salinas
Many teachers understand the burden of managing overwhelming workloads. AP English teacher Mick Battaglini spends hours reading essays for his class, among other school related activities outside of work hours. “I’m more than willing to read PIQs or write a letter of recommendation for a student, but what these organizations (Nike, Gates Foundation, HSF) are asking is extra work," he said. "I understand it's voluntary, but If I do that (read essays) for SBAC or College Board, I’m compensated, so the same should be true in this situation.”
Pushing the limits of altruism
During Center Meet 3 at Pinto Lake County Park on October 17th, sophomore Yaretzi Cornelio finished first with a time of 18:29. “Leading the girls to victory felt good. We won our first Center meet which was very important to us,” Cornelio said, “The reason why is because it gives us a better chance at winning the league.”
Looking to make history
Senior safety Aileen Gonzalez returns an interception for touchdown in the first quarter against Alvarez on October 9. The Trojans defeated the Eagles 65-6 to even their record at 5-5.
Just the beginning
The members of the 4x400 relay team - Luz Mejia-Martinez, Massiel Hernandez, Alexa Martinez, and Erika Castro- set a school record at the PCAL Division Championship.
Spring Sports Wrap Up
Assistant Coach Sunil Smith and Coach Fransico Estrada supervise a weight room session. Estrada wants the players to focus on the weight room and their speed workouts in the off season, so they can be more dynamic and competitive during their season.

In the playoff game against San Mateo, senior Samantha Ortiz gets a hit and drives in a run in the 4-10 loss. “Personally, I didn’t play to my full potential and I think our team was holding back from our potential as well,” she said.

Overcoming Loss
For casual days I do just mascara and lip gloss. For mascara I typically keep it consistent by using the Maybelline Sky High in Black and pair it with a lip gloss. The product usually depends on my mood. I tend to buy many lip glosses, some may say too much (like over 50+), but I usually stick with either e.l.f. glowy balm in grape or NYX Fat Oil in Newsfeed.
Yes I wear makeup, and?
I struggled with my phone addiction for a long time in my early teens, and I didn’t fix it until these last two years.
Building a Healthy Relationship With Our Phones
