Paranormal Witness

Paranormal+Witness

Have you ever been alone in your house and felt like someone is in the room with you, or someone is looking at you but no one is there? This might sound cheesy, but some people believe in mysterious life beyond what the eye can see or comprehend. Paranormal Witness is a show based on the real-life testimony of people’s stories of the abnormal where people re-enact them. The combination of interviews, actual home videos and drama brings real stories of the paranormal to the television.

Paranormal Witness premieres on Syfy with new episodes Wednesdays at 10/9c during the early fall. For those people with early bedtimes or who miss an episode, the show can also be seen a day after the premiere on the website: www.syfy.com/paranormalwitness or on demand.

This series has been on the air since September 7, 2011 and has 42 episodes to watch from. Although the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the show is the movie Paranormal Activity, they have no relation other than both are based on incomprehensible events. It may be hard to believe this but Paranormal Witness is a show based on “actual events” and these stories are being hunted down by the producers like Mark Lewis. In an interview by the morton report with Lewis he stated “We’re on the hunt for very credible witnesses who tell extraordinary tales and extraordinary tales develop into proper stories. These types of stories are very few and far between, though, so we really have to reach out to all sorts of groups, including sometimes paranormal groups, as well as comb through newspapers and media reports.”

One of the most popular episodes “The Manson Curse” starts with a detective, David Oman, played by Jay Kee, asking his father to help find a place in which to build a house. His father finds a great place in Cielo Drive in Los Angeles, CA. Oman could not figure out where he had heard that phrase. Years later after the house had been constructed he decides to host a housewarming party and this is the beginning to a lot of supernatural activities. Oman and his guests start to experience ghostly activities all around the house and being an investigator he looks into the history of his environment and what he finds next could not be more shocking.

Each show features a different director and actors. “The Manson Curse” was directed by Will Bridges. Bridges has also directed another episode in Paranormal Witness called “The Wolf Pack” and is directing a new episode premiering soon called “Demon House.”

As for “The Wolf Pack,” it’s one of the weaker episodes of the show because of its lack of fear and entertainment. This story is about a family moving into Palmyra, Maine, because of the injury to Eric Martin played by Tom O’Neil. After the first few night they start to notice lights off in the distance. The next morning, Martin goes of to investigate what could have caused the bright light. Instead, he finds himself being watched by several different eyes. His first instinct is to run to his house and lock the door. Later that night, he is visited by several wolf-like beasts and is under house arrest for the rest of the night.

Paranormal Witness is not just a show about ghosts, it also involves haunted dolls, UFOs, Werewolves, and many other unexplainable creatures and events. This show brings entertainment and fear into the audience through shocking stories that “could be true.”  Whether you’re a believer or not, and you like to be scared, Paranormal Witness has many alarming scenes that will keep you on the tip of your toes.
