SAT vs ACT – Which should you take?
Members of the book club voted for the next book they will be reading, which will be Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult. “I'm glad that everyone agreed on a new book to read,” senior club president Alyssa Annis said. “I was looking forward to getting started on it.”
Book Club makes connections with literature and people
At the Palma dual meet, junior Fabian Martinez pinned his opponent, not only giving him a win but also setting up the team for their first league win of the season. “I worked hard for this win and I feel happy with the results,” Martinez said.
New Era, New goals
Junior Stephanie Zarate, running towards goal on a 1 on 1 against the goalkeeper in the Alisal v. Greenfield game. The game ended 2-0 with goals from Zarate and freshman, Giselle Solis.

Bryan Mendoza-Vega skillfully takes control of the ball during a match against Soledad. The Trojans came out on top, 3-0.
Going for the Goal
In the finals of the Solis-Miles-Solis tournament, Kike Jacinto steps up for the team and helps Alisal beat the Pioneers. Jacinto scored 10 points in the 51-34 win, “The first half I had 0 points… but second half I knew I had to come up with something, so I scored 10 points,” Jacinto said.

SCORE?! My father, Mardo Portillo, and me watching a game replay of football in his room. Barcelona’s forward, Ferran Torres, scored a goal that was barely onside assisted by 17-year-old, Lamine Yamal, putting them ahead on the scoreboard 2-1 in the 82nd minute.

This is a display of some of my adult collector sets, mixed with some smaller ones. It represents a shrine of sets that keep me coming back to Lego due to their difficulty and age range. Some sets, like Optimus Prime, took me 4 hours or multiple days to put together which is what I enjoy from Lego, you never feel bored.
Why I still enjoy collecting Lego
These nails are the last set that I did on myself about 2 weeks ago and lasted me 3 weeks. It took me about 2 and a half hours to do. These nails are medium length and well manicured, with a French tip glossy finish. They are painted a soft pink color and each nail has a delicate white flower design, which adds elegance and creativity. As soon as I saw the final result, I got a surge of confidence and I loved them.

Trying to use the bathroom between periods is difficult due to long lines caused by people taking too long or just hanging out.

Being in coding programs has also allowed me to receive perks. With Girls Who Code, I was sent a package as a gift for being a part of the program and received a Raspberry Pi that I could build. Raspberry Pi is a small single-board computer that you can plug into your computer to connect to wireless internet, USB ports, and ample processing power with RAM.
