In her ASL 2 class ASL teacher Patty Killough signs look at me to get their attention, as some of the students were not paying attention (on phones, talking, etc.). Many teachers understand the burden of managing overwhelming workloads. AP English teacher Mick Battaglini spends hours reading essays for his class, among other school related activities outside of work hours. “I’m more than willing to read PIQs or write a letter of recommendation for a student, but what these organizations (Nike, Gates Foundation, HSF) are asking is extra work, he said. I understand its voluntary, but If I do that (read essays) for SBAC or College Board, I’m compensated, so the same should be true in this situation.”

Overcoming Loss
For casual days I do just mascara and lip gloss. For mascara I typically keep it consistent by using the Maybelline Sky High in Black and pair it with a lip gloss. The product usually depends on my mood. I tend to buy many lip glosses, some may say too much (like over 50+), but I usually stick with either e.l.f. glowy balm in grape or NYX Fat Oil in Newsfeed.

I struggled with my phone addiction for a long time in my early teens, and I didn’t fix it until these last two years.

Hobbies: baking cinnamon rolls and pizza, playing video games, watching TikTok, and hanging out with friends.

Music- likes listening to poppy music to get energetic and in the mood for the day.

Latest Accomplishment: completed a six week program called mostec and got humbled by all they’ve accomplished.

Goals: go to college and become a statistician, if possible at Stanford or MIT, work in the bay area.

3 words that describe you: diligent, awkward, and hard working

Why did you join the newspaper/yearbook? - Joined the class to improve writing skills as well as record all the memories here in his final year.

Likes: family, eating, computers, phone, and friends.

Dislikes: being hot, all types of bugs, little holes, wasting food, and washing dishes.

Favorite Quote: “It’s okay to not know, but it’s not okay to not try.”

Juan Ledesma and Jane Albano, my freshman Math and English teachers have supported me from the beginning. They had been anticipating the news for nearly four years after I made my declaration of wanting to attend Stanford to them in ninth grade. When I submitted my application and opened up my acceptance (both in Ms. Albano’s room), she and Mr. Ledesma were among the first to know.

The importance of character - Freshman English teacher Jane Albano teaching and discussing with one of her students, Matthew Sans Cruz, the setting and various characters in Of Mice and Men. If youre going to come into teaching then it has to be love, not only of the subject, but love of the students as well, Albano said.
