Ranked and Ready

A new season begins for the reigning CCS Division 1 Champions as they continue their conquest to be champions again with some familiar faces and new faces in the team. The team began with just seven returners of last years team that went 19-0-2 and finished the season ranked #3 in the nation and #1 in California. Big performances and high quality soccer is expected this year as they had a stacked pre-season, playing some of the best programs in the nation. This test began early as the team played nationally ranked Paramount, who traveled all the way from Los Angeles, a well contested game that finished in a 3-1 victory for the Trojans who then rolled on to a 3-0 win over Seaside.
Soccer AdrianThe biggest test of the season came early when they faced the #1 team in California, San Clemente. The game was played in Southern California, a foreign playing field for the visiting Trojans who were ranked #2 in California. A battle between the Trojans and the Tritons ensued, a spectacle for many as the top teams in the state squared off. The game was thoroughly contested in every part, and then the Trojans took the lead with a goal from junior Santiago Morales. After the goal, both teams looked to create chances and in a bad call from the referee, the Trojans conceded in a goal that was clearly offsides. The game ended in a 1-1 draw, but was a true win for the Trojans, who proved everyone nationally they can play anyone anywhere.
