R & B singer Dom Innarella is a young and upcoming superstar. He has released multiple songs, such as “Jersey In July”, and “Call me.” His next big hit is called “Bout me.” Innarella comes from a long line of musicians in his family. His maternal grandfather and paternal grandfather were both musicians. His maternal grandfather mostly sang doo-wops, something that InnarellaDom also does in his music. Dom’s paternal grandfather sang with well known musicians such as Frankie Vallie and Franky Lymon.
Before he started singing, he started out performing at events such as chorus shows and theater plays at his school. He shined in local productions such as Mary Poppins, Elf Jr, Spongebob Squarepants, Finding Nemo, and Beetlejuice.
In 2023, he also dropped viral covers of Bruno Mars, Benson, Billie Eilish and Rihanna. This helped him build a small fan base on social media on TikTok, helping him reach new audiences.
His big break came when he debuted his song “Bout me” in March 2025. This became one of his biggest hits. It gained him a lot of traction throughout TikTok and gained him over 8.4 million listens on Spotify.
This song is about knowing your-self worth and being independent. The song starts off with some beats and a faint background of his voice, then it leads to the main part of him singing, “Something tells me that you’re thinking ’bout Me, When you come around me, Tell me can you see it clear as day or is it cloudy? Don’t mind me bae, I’m rambling, You’re perfect I can’t stand it, Got dreams of leaving Jersey, you can’t spend Your life in Camden.” The start of the song is energetic and keeps that same energy level throughout the song.
After listening to “Bout Me,” I think this song is enjoyable for people who enjoy listening to the more energetic type of R & B.
My initial reaction to this song is that it sounded like a popular song on TikTok that you would see a group of people dancing to. I enjoyed the beats of the song and the meaning behind the song.
While it is a good song, I prefer listening more to the calm type of R & B genre. Overall, I give this song a 7.5/10.
